Destination of the Month: Dublin
Dublin is a great choice for a change of surroundings and only about an hours flight away or a ferry trip from Liverpool. Some Dublin highlights include: Literary Dublin with the ancient Book of Kells at Trinity College, amazing Long Room like a setting from Harry Potter, Ha’penny Bridge has one of Dublin’s most lovely of views, Oscar Wilde memorial at pretty Georgian Merrion Square garden, and visiting the National Gallery of Ireland.
Click here for how to have a perfect day in Dublin without spending a euro.
We have supported many driving
holidays over the years, and Ireland has been a popular choice. With the car
there are lots of ferry options, including from Cairnryan in Scotland to
Belfast in 2h 15m, or Holyhead in Wales to Dublin in 3h 30m. Some top routes
have included: Dublin, Bray, Cork, Killarney and heading up north to Belfast
and surrounding areas.
Emerald miles – The Wild Atlantic
Way takes your road trip along the West Coast of Ireland (look out for the
clear road markings - a white wave on a blue background) and can visit
Killarney National Park or Kylemore Abbey (Galway) set in the forest.
Did you know we have a Dublin guide in our Downloads section? Click here to check it out.
